Mardi Gras!

This is how we spent our weekend, being lazy at the beach. I love being so close to the beach that we can take these little getaways whenever we want! Mardi Gras festivities were on full swing and we took advantage of all PC had to offer. Lucy enjoyed yelling "throw me some, mister!" over and over. She got a ton of beads and had a ball. We will definitely do this again next year. She would raise her sweet hand and yell "me!" each time a float would come by.

We are in the beginnings of Lent in our house...preparing for the death and resurrection of our Lord. While she is still too young to understand it all, I want to instill in her a passion for this time of year. On Ash Wednesday, the look on her face when we got our ashes was priceless. I told her they were ashes and she laughed and said "ashes, ashes, we all fall down!" And truly, we should fall down. Fall down in humbleness at the grace and forgiveness we each receive from His most wonderful sacrifice. My prayer for lent is to become more like Him in all aspects of my life.

Praying you also are blessed during this Lenten season!

6 years and counting

6 years ago this weekend I met my husband. I had met him once before but this time we were able to talk and get to know each other. We went in our first date on Valentines Day and have been together ever since! I love my Scotty! He is a wonderful, caring husband and a stellar father to Lucy. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us!

Long day!

Lucy spent the night with her two favorite people last night...her Gigi and Tata. When I went to pick her up she was having a great time. I had to go to the mall and while we were there I stopped by the candy store and got her some mini M and M's for doing so well with potty training this week. After we got in the car and were heading home, we were talking about her spend the night party and then it got very quiet in the backseat. I looked back and saw my sweet girl sacked out with chocolate on her face and her hand still in the bag! She must have had an amazing time with her Gigi and Tata! Thanks mom and dad for letting me bring her over! She loves you and so do I!
